The Credentials Evaluation Service (CES) prepares a detailed report analyzing your education, registration, and licensing to determine how they compare to US standards. CGFNS International's report helps universities, regulatory agencies, immigration attorneys, and prospective employers choose candidates for educational or career opportunities in the United States.

The Credential Verification Service (CVS)for New York State is required for all foreign-educated registered nurses (RN), licensed practical nurses (LPN), physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists, and occupational therapy assistants who are applying for a license to practice in the State of New York. If you are not applying to NY State you don't need CVS.

The Certification Program (CGFNS-CP) is the program most widely used, and is required by most state boards of nursing before you will be allowed to take the state licensing exam.

The Certification Program has three parts: CGFNS International reviews your credentials to determine if your education, registration, and licensing will qualify you to work in the United States as a registered nurse. CGFNS International gives a Qualifying Exam to test your nursing knowledge. Several English Language Proficiency Examinations are approved to meet the English language requirement of the Certification Program. Applicants apply directly to the Educational Testing Service (ETS) to take either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) or to IELTS International to take the academic module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The testing organization forwards your score to CGFNS International for evaluation. You must successfully complete all three parts of the Certification Program in order to obtain a CGFNS International Certificate. Most US State Boards of Nursing will require you to show proof of holding a CGFNS International Certificate before you will be allowed to take the state licensing exam.

Most of the states require your credentials to be evaluated before issuing eligilbility.
